           INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER

What is computer? 
       A computer is an electronic device which can accept data process it and give us output after processing. 
   The word "computer" is derived from Latin word "compute" which means to calculate.  So a computer is normaly considerds a calculating device. 
Charactistics of a computer. 

Important charactistics of computer are
* speed
*Accuracy
* Data storage 
* Data transmission 
* efficiency
Types of Computer.  
Computer are divided into following three types
*analog computer
*digital computer
*Hybird computer
Analog computer
Analog computer are devices which are use to measure continuous values. For example analog clock, thermometer etc
Digital computer
Digital means discreate. In digital computer everthing is described in two states on or off. For example digital computer, digital watch etc
Hybird computer.
The combination of analog and digital computer are called hybird computer.  For example Electrocardiogram machine, Echocardiogram machine, ultrasound machine CT scan machine ect
Classification of computer
Computer are gernaly classified according to their size, speed and memory
Super computer
Mainframe computer
Mini computer
Micro computer
1 :- SUPER COMPUTER... 
super computer are most faster and expensive computer in the world. Its perform million billion math operations per second.  Exp of super computer are Cray I, II,  III ETA-10 

2:- MAINFRAME COMPUTER.... 
Mainfram computer are slower then super computer but fast then mini and micro computer. They can execute millions of instractions per seconds. 

3:- MINI COMPUTER.... 
minicomputer were introduced in 1960s. They have less storage capacity compared to mainframe computer. 

4:- MICRO COMPUTER.... 
these computer are comonly used now a days and these computer revolutionized the computers industry because of their size and cost.
